about NewsNIC

NewsNIC

e-NewsNIC is a web-based 'News Clippings System' , developed by the National Informatics Centre, Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India. The software is useful for libraries and information centres to provide, web-based, full-text, online 'News Clippings Services' to its users. The software can be implemented either in stand-alone or in client-server mode where database and Web Interface are installed on the server PC while the news generation / uploading program is installed on client PCs. The software provides LAN based news uploading programs to the centralized database from where it is published on Intranet/Internet. The useful news items from print/web editions of the newspapers are copied and pasted to generate the news files for uploading. The software is multi-lingual/UNICODE compliant and can be used to publish the news items from news papers in regional languages, also photo from news items gets displayed with the respective news itesm.
